General Information

Looking for Instructors

Interested in teaching at Assabet After Dark, or do you simply have a great course idea? We would like to hear from you.
Email Carolyn Madzar and include a brief course description, your qualifications, and your contact information.

To be considered for the Fall 2014 catalog, you must submit your course proposal by May 1, 2014.

What do I do the first night of class?

Please enter through the main entrance of the school and wait in the main lobby.  Instructors will meet their students at the designated start time and guide them to class. Plan to arrive 10 minutes before class starts. If you arrive late, please refer to the map and class listing in the main lobby or come to the Assabet After Dark office for directions.

Saturday Classes: If you are taking a class which meets on Saturday, please enter the building through the main entrance and wait for your instructor in the front lobby. If the Assabet Valley School District cancels all weekend activities due to inclement weather, the cancellation will be broadcast on radio/TV. However, if the Assabet Valley School District does not cancel weekend activities, your instructor may still decide to cancel class. It will be the student’s responsibility to call the instructor on the morning of the class to see if class will be cancelled. (Remember to ask the instructor for his/her phone number on the first day of class). If class is cancelled, the course will be extended one week.

Class Cancellations & Snow Policy

Occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances (snow, power outages, instructor illness, etc.) the Center for Continuing Education must cancel a class. Cancelled classes are always made up (same day of week and time) by extending the finish date of the course, unless other arrangements are made between the instructor and the class and approved by the director. When day school is cancelled due to snow conditions or other weather or emergency events, evening classes are also cancelled. Look for the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School cancellation notice on the stations listed below. In the event day classes are not cancelled and the weather worsens, if a decision to cancel evening classes is made, it will be posted on our web site www.assabetafterdark.com and relayed to the following radio and television stations by 4:00 PM (if evening classes are going to be held as usual, there will be no notice): WBZ-TV, WBZ 1030 AM, WCVB-TV, WRKO AM 680, FOX 25-TV.

No Classes
